In This Case, Opinions Do Matter: Why Reading Equipment Reviews Is So Important

You know by now that in order to purchase a piece of exercise equipment online, you’re going to need to do some research on what exactly you are looking for in your new machine. Part of this research that I want to spend some time discussing, are consumer reviews.

If you’ve heard that consumer reviews are simply writers hired to say nice things about a product, well – you’ve heard wrong. Think about it: When you are either either overly pleased with a recent purchase, or overtly angry about it, you want to tell everyone you know. In some cases of consumers, they want to write about it. So first, be a little more trusting of your fellow buyers.

So, what do you want to look for when reviewing those consumer reviews? Consistency is key, here. You will always have your occasional bad review, but when the majority of them are positive, you’re on the right track.

You also want to look for a manufacturer that provides you with the reviews. For example, on the main page of Yowza’s website, you can see “Reviews” on the menu bar. This shows that they want you to read their reviews; they are proud of what their customers have had to say about their purchases.

Not only that, but Yowza takes it one step further. Once you click on “Reviews”, you are then taken to a page with all of the websites where you can find what customer’s had to say: Consumer Affairs, Google, Amazon, and Trust Pilot, plus reviews from Treadmill Doctor, Elliptical Reviews.net, Top Consumer Reviews, and Treadmill Reviews.net. So you have a ton of sites to browse through and see how consumers and professionals have rated the equipment.

Once you have sifted through the consumer reviews and you think you may be on the right track, check out some online reviews from websites such as usa-homegym.com. These are great because they provide insight into not only how the machines were rated, but also categorizes how and why the machine received the given rating. USA-homegym.com even provides a YouTube video demonstrating how to operate the selected piece of equipment. Yowza’s OspreyLido, and Daytona treadmills are each broken down on this site, giving you visuals and text on the machine’s features and if they have everything you are looking for.

So there you have one of your steps in researching your next treadmill or elliptical. Reading over consumer and online reviews will be more than beneficial when purchasing exercise equipment online, as long as you know what you’re looking for.
