Captiva CardioCore Ellipticals
Why is Yowza Captiva better than LifeFitness X1?
Rear Drive System
Self Pivoting Pedals
Cardio Core Upper Body
iPod Docking Station
researched the Ellipticals like I was testing for a final exam... When i called the people at Yowza, they actually knew what they where selling... It does what they say it does plain and simple... I have lost about 10 lbs since started using the machine... It makes very little noise, nothing feels "cheap".. Overall, well worth the money.
Now I am motivated!!! What a high intensity workout! I love being able to change my stride on a whim and talk about the workout to my mid-section...Phew! I am looking forward to a stronger me!!! I am glad I went with the white glove delivery... missed the special though!
Review of LifeFitness X1 & Captiva
Both machines feature roller-less rear drive systems and both are very smooth and quiet. Rear drive is the way to go and at around $2000 and you should not have to settle for anything less. But take a closer look and you will see that the Captiva elliptical runs rings around it's Life Fitness counterpart. For one, the Captiva is heavier and has a superior warranty (Lifetime on the drive system, five years all other components and 2 full years in-home labor).
The Captiva is also the only elliptical on the market which allows you to change the motion on the fly. Users can increase both the stride length and motion intensity with the touch of a button and therefore it adds versatility to the workout. The Life Fitness X1 is a fixed stride elliptical with a very limited range of workout options. Within Life Fitness' line you would need to spend about $4000 for the X8 model to get a machine that adjusts your stride motion and even that model does not have as full an adjustment range as Yowza's Captiva.
Another key feature that you should focus on when comparing these two fine elliptical machines is the upper body motion. The Life Fitness X1 uses traditional ski pole style upper body movement which has the ski poles directly connected to the foot pedals. With that design, the legs end up doing most of the work since the momentum of the flywheel pushes the poles back and forth regardless of how much effort you may put into the upper body motion. The Captiva's Patented Cardio Core™ motion has a gearing system that allows you to push and pull the contoured grips in a more intuitive path of motion. This Converging axis recruits the muscles of the Abdominals, Serratus and lower back while providing a far superior cardiovascular workout.
Top five reasons to buy the Captiva over the Life Fitness X1:
1) Captiva is sold factory direct and provides, variable motion, cardio core and sells for hundreds less.
2) Captiva's warranty is twice as long as the Life Fitness Club.
3) Free next day shipping and no sales tax on the Captiva.
4) The Captiva is rated a best buy for 2010.5) Yowza's exclusive 30 day Money Back Guarantee.
With Rampless Incline, variable motion and Cardio Core upper body movement you can't afford to buy anything less than the Yowza Captiva elliptical.
